what is your upload speed?
 

is it fast? there are many online services that offer you storage for backup and other stuff.. but what if you want to backup a 1GB file? or worse,, a 4GB one?

i mean.. these online services give you lots of GB.. even of TB order..

so you gotta use 'em somehow since you might be paying them...?

It's about 1MB per second. So 15 mins per GB? "Broadband". Does it matter that much - sort of thing you can do in the background?

EDIT: That's twice the average upload speed for my internet provider. So perhaps it's a good time of day or something.

My speed is 14334(Kbps) down / 1022(Kbps) up. So, this means 1.7 MB/s down, 128 KB/s up (0.1 MB), not that good.

Although comparing down-/upload speeds is pointless (depends on what your ISP offers and what you decided to go for and it is only true for the connection between you and your ISP), here's mine:

113.4 Mbit/s down and 10.8 Mbit/s up (max would be 120 Mbit/s and 12 Mbit/s).

Not too bad, if I may say so.....

i wish i even had half that speed for download!!!!!

Yep, 12 Mbit/s = 1.5 MB/s and that is my official maximum upload. I do reach ~13 Mbit/s at times, but it does need to be very early in the morning to reach that. At peak hours it drops to about 9/10 Mbit/s.

I guess I am one of the lucky ones if I look at the numbers posted by others......

I was getting 30kbps up last week, and I had to up 2x500mb files.

Usually get 90 up. Not much better.

1 Mbit/s up on speedtest.net, but only just. I cap torrents at 800 kbit/s. Download is about 4.5 Mbit/s. I have the cheapest broadband service.

I miss when I was at university. 100 Mbit/s up and down, albeit paying about 12 pence/GB, and a lenient IT department.
