What is your favorite OS?

What is your favorite OS?

Now, now, don't be Biast!

Nylex 03-04-2006 01:32 AM

This isn't a Linux question, so it's been reported to be moved. Also, it's "biased".

IceChant 03-04-2006 01:54 AM

I find it funny to ask for favorite OS in linux forums...

amosf 03-04-2006 05:34 AM

My favorite OS is the OS to come after this OS. The OS whose basic perameters this OS is not worthy to compute...

pixellany 03-04-2006 07:05 AM

In economics, they teach you that the definition of "money" is anything that performs the function of money.
The best OS is the one that gets the job done......What is interesting to note is that, for a large portion of the computing public, the choice of OS makes ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE. And yet, when the Colossus of Redmond issues an update to Windows, people flock to buy it. Why? to be current, to be not left behind...whatever. Did you know you have the choice to use a free OS where there are **free** incremental improvements? "Leave me alone, you kook."

My favorite OS is my Linux/Windows hybrid where everyone is very happy in Linux until they can't figure out how to something and are too lazy to figure it out in Linux so they utter an expletive, reboot to Windows, get the work done, and then hurry back to Linux.......whew!!
This box has three users--2 of whom do not know how to reboot to Windows--and NEVER need to.
Oh, and I don't like polls.......;)

Because everyone likes to have at least one thread moved to Gedneral by me!

lucky_dev36 03-04-2006 12:49 PM

Is there a general Tech forum? You could delete this post, and I will post on a general technology forum. (I Think I know one.)

Edit: Maybe I should have done this on Linux Distros???

No, you should wait for the 2005 member choice awards to finish, and then examine the results.

peter_89 03-04-2006 01:32 PM

Just wait for the Member's Choice Awards, you'll get much more accurate results than you ever will from this.

This question is not Linux specific, therefore it doesn't go in any forum that begins "Linux-". It's not *BSD or any OS specific and it's not Technical at all. So it fits in General. Which is why I moved it here.

slantoflight 03-07-2006 06:09 AM

Aww come on.
Every knows DOS is the best. Linux doesn't stand a chance.

:)

Mega Man X 03-07-2006 07:08 AM

I've to say Solaris and BSD here. Though, I've been using Windows a lot lately because of games and... since I hate dual-booting, I'm also using Windows for not gaming stuff and it is just fine :)

peter_89 03-07-2006 07:32 AM

We should be allowed to make multiple choices, for all of us who can't decide between Linux, BSD, or Windows.
