Question What does Martin Wimpress' twitter profile pic mean?

I'm referring to the top banner image of "spilled ketchup bottles" on his profile: https://twitter.com/m_wimpress

On the Ubuntu podcast (which is now on hiatus btw), he mentioned this symbolizes something but I can't figure it out and now I want to know. Here are (what I'm calling) some facts:

1. it's gotta be a reference to something techy or Linux, because why wouldn't it be otherwise
2. there's no metadata on the png image
3. although there's no labels, the (relatively safe) assumption is "mirrored generic ketchup"
4. glass bottles connotes a "classic" or "restaurant" feel about them
5. no other condiments on a white background feel to me like it's about the "ketchup" itself

I don't know what to say, I'm at a loss.

I'm guessing you're an American.

Here's a clue: The English don't use the word "ketchup" to describe the contents of those bottles. It's sauce... and the bottles are open...

Why does no one "see" the bottle?
Open Source = Clear Packaging?

That might be a factor but I think rkelsen nailed it. As a fellow Brit I would immediately think "Open sauce..." when confronted with that picture and a profile with the words "Open Source" in it.

Hi, I'm Martin Wimpress.

Yes, the intended meaning of that image is "Open Sauce" just as rkelsen said ☺️
