what do you think of the Brave browser?

I read about a relatively new, allegedly secure browser called Brave, and am going to try it as soon as I feel like making the effort. Any thoughts on it?

I like it. It's fast and trouble free and extends like chrome does. I've use the beta for a year and it updates every couple days. Never broke on me.

I've been quite underwhelmed by it. It's "secure" in that it blocks some things, but makes up for it by delivery ads that are specifically unblockable as they're delivered by the browser not the site. HUGE thumbs down IMO, I'd rather just install ublock origin in an otherwise stock ungoogled Chromium install, be WAY more secure than Brave.

I prefer vivaldi for most use. Although a more minimal browser like DILLO is likely to be more secure.

I tried on mobile and pc. I was disappointed and it didn't last long in both instances.

I've been running Brave for only a few days, but it looks like a very nice web browser. I haven't enabled the Brave Rewards thing. My primary browser is Firefox, with ublock Origin. Brave Shields seems to do a fine job of blocking ads. On one installation, the scrolling on the web pages seemed too slow; I brought up the Flags menu by typing brave://flags/ in the search bar, and then enabled Smooth Scrolling. That helped.
