Are you in the mood for something dreamy and gorgeous? Shocker! My granddaugter turned me on to this young female artist with so much roots and backstory in her vocals I still can't get over that she's just 15 years old. This is not the typical young prodigy stuff where you will fee like "Damn she is really good for her age. No she is really good for ANY age. Check it out if and when you're in the mood for pretty and deep.

Foregone Destruction from ye olde Unreal Tournament 99 but it's about to switch to the Star Control 2, 3DO/UrQuan Masters version of Hyperspace.
So damn good.

Something appropriate for the current day, though (at least in my timezone), even if I'm not listening to it right now.

I will be looking for some good cover versions.
One

... I almost added BS&T's “you've made me so very happy”, but the video showed Jerry Fisher singing to the studio version by David Clayton Thomas. Search if you must. I am nauseated... Already the results on YouTube for “Blood Sweat & Tears” made clear that I have fallen of the edge of your flattened universe.

Oh. Wait. The Brenda Holloway links come up quickly (Did PP. Arnold imitate her or vv..?) and I discovered the original "You've made me so very happy".

Two (Barbara Lewis cover by Elkie Brooks)

Three Surprise. The Herman's Hermits song was originally “written for” (acquired from an unknown junkie) and first performed by Goldie & Gingerbreads (See Genya Ravan).

Preferably one with Rhythm, Melody, possibly Harmony, and a Chorus that put together in Time "gets under the skin" and moves people emotionally ... takes on a kind of journey. I think Music is quite possibly the highest Art form humankind has ever created.

I agree, especially for memory forming. Visual art is the next best thing (and sometimes the best thing until music comes in, cause sometimes music is bad, but the ceiling is different).
...but that also means that it can be used for 'evil', people remembering catchy jingles more easily than the voice of their childhood friends, etc, but yeah.

Anyway, "Einzug der Gladiatoren" sung by Heino right now :P
Let's see if it's on youtube, yes...

For me the only one that is necessary is that it gets under the skin. I listen to a lot of ambient which often has no rhythm, harmony or chorus. I'm not a big listener of noise music, but a lot of noise is supposed to get under the skin in a negative way and to be atonal and discordant so would therefore not fill any other of the criteria [unless the appreciation of 'negative' impact qualifies]. I think just being emotive is enough.

While certain genres have been created by man, to say music has been created by man is rather a stretch. Music is existent in nature and the universe in its entirety, man has purely developed it in a way that's more relevant to the species.
