Nina Hagen - "Hold Me"

Désolé - Elle est merveilleuse.

Sorry, but she is just great, all the same.

i'm totally with you, i just wish you'd post better videos.
french tv must've been pretty horrible in 1980...

Wau Wau
Smack JAck
Die UFOs sind Da

Edit: worth mentioning that her band (first 2 albums iirc) were (are) some technically pretty advanced rock musicians, if you're into that sort of sound. whole album:
Unbehagen
also NH herself is, despite of her demeanor, a pretty good singer. there's rumours of her having had classical training, but i can't find anything beyond her being a "staatlich geprüfte Schlagersängerin" (DDR), lol.

I “believe” (<--- note that) that her “training” at the state-institute comprised more than just popular music but that she finally took that direction. An orientation towards “serious music” would have been possible, too. It is not even possible for me to say, where I got that idea from... I am too young to have liked Nina Hagen in time.

Must have been on the media.

That was halfway intentional. I wonder whether the dull from the second video have multiplied in the meantime and also mimic the government.

^ i guessed it was.
the male audience is quite horrible, i can practically see them drooling.
also it seems it was considered compulsory to dress up in french designer clothes before showing up?

the first "video" of my last link shows a lot of funny/nice pictures of her, some very young (not the later mid-eighties overly made up craziness).
probably BRAVO scans...

me too, about a decade.
although things weren't so internet-accelarated then, so a delay of a year or two was pretty normal in popular culture.

i've seen her live though, in the nineties, it was a powerful & skilful performance, concentrating on the sound, not some crazy visuals.
she even said something like that on stage: performing live is what she really puts her heart in.

Destroyer666 - Wildfire

I underestimated this album. Great mixture between heavy metal, thrash and black.
