Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

Just a note on Genya Ravan. I've enjoyed her ever since Ten Wheel Drive days but only recently discovered that she was a fairly important Producer "in the Biz" from watching the thoroughly enjoyable semi-documentary film CBGB. Which reminds me ...
If you're tastes always run to the 3 minute pop song you might want to skip this one because it is authentically epic in every sense of the word. First of all it's Live so it'sd honest and raw but it is also uncompromisingly creative and unique - Nobody else sounds like this - and it's utterly magnificent and dreamy which may seem like an odd description of what is loosely termed as Proto Punk but as you may find that doesn't really apply at all to this tune unless you consider it's total abandonment of any concern for restrictions other than that demanded by the dream itself. If you need a little herbal assistance to sit and dream for 17 odd minutes, be my guest. I doubt you will be disappointed.
and if you are willing to venture into territory too weird for even CBGBs try German TV (and yes, the drummer is wearing a monocle and underwear on his head because the rest of his body and mind are too busy to notice.
What a shame. I *LIVE IN THIS COUNTRY* but only this morning, about to switch off the radio, I was hit by a wawa and could not move. Lucky coincidences like this keep me from despairing about modern pop music. I want to spell it out clearly once again:
@Enorbert: Thank you. ;-)
Genya has written quite an honest and comprehensive autobiography, in about the same 'raw' style as characterizes (whatever) her preformances. “Lollypop Lounge”. In the book you find many of the names that dominated the music-industry, from Ahmet Ertegün over Keith Richards (to avoid the obious) to Eric Burdon... I cannot omit Janis Joplin and David Clayton Thomas. This is worth reading, but do not order at Amazon, if there is a book shop in your reach.
“Lollypop Lounge” “Rock and Roll Refugee” is now the title of a broadway show, but I this should (darn!) not prevent (darn!) Martin Scorsese to read the book! (And darn! We are waiting).

Reason: Lollypop Lounge, self-inflicted brain-knots. Rubbish. A lot of it
