Another Velvet Morning For Me... Apparently when Richard Ashcroft faces the sun he has no shadow...
Either way, it's always been a great morning song or me no matter whether I's about to wake or about to sleep.

@Michael Uplawski (and any swingers)

Thanks for Mit 18. The opening reminded me of the incredible legacy of electrified harmonica, commonly called Harp, that was created by the early Masters and never yet much improved on, only emulated.

Raw and Primitive but probably the First (electrified) Harp Player that opened the doors

Sonny Boy Williamson I - Dealin' With the Devil

This is THE Master, Little Walter, who everyone copied 'cuz he was just so complete, passionate and creative. I can't show this with one link, so it's a good'n, I promise. Hear the rest of his work if you enjoy this as he is a Master of Swing Shuffle. Some players may be nearly as good but nobody is better. Walter wrote songs and sang great too but this instrumental gives a fuller picture of his immense talent and prowess on Harp.

Off The Wall

Big Walter only once, IMHO, truly earned the right to own the "Big" moniker by somehow creating arguably the single most perfect Harp solo ever recorded in a single take.

Walkin' By Myself - Big Walter in Jimmy Rogers Band

I almost left out a unique stylist, one of the few who owed very little to Little Walter, Sonny Boy Williamson II. Here he is later in life in a rare live video so you can see how he shaped notes with his mouth and hands to elevate the instrument far beyond it's origins and the sheer passion and honesty he brought with him to virtually every performance. At least one of the verses may be improvised on the spot as it does not appear in the studio recording.

OK time to 'fess up. I have a full CD of my old band doing a live show and 3 are now on YouTube. We were a Bluesy-Jazzy Rock 'n Roll Improv band heavy on guitars and improv soloing so if you don't care for that, you might wish to skip these. However, as is stated on the videos, the performance is pretty damned good (especially considering all the running, leaping, and acrobatics in a Live Show) but what I'm actually most proud of is the recording and editing process, much of which was done in Linux on Ardour.

The original was a Mono cassete tape taken directly off the mixing console, which because it is reinforcement, is NOT what it sounded like in the room, but more like a mirror image. The PA boosts most what is weakest in the room. Add to that the best "PCs" at the time had 1MB RAM and DAWs didn't exist, so 20 years passed as well as many moves, and tape deteriorates some with age. Despite all those problems it sounds pretty close to what it did in the Hall, thanks to Digital and hours and hours of hard (but fun) work. So, without any further ado, here's my band.

Got to thinking of this after posting Sonny Boy's though ours is "hardened"

Nine Below Zero

This was totally impromptu as the 2nd guitarist broke a string

String Breaker Based on Otis Rush Tune

This last tune is a segue of Peter Gunne into a Doors-y but a lot harder version of th Bar Band Staple

Gloria Gunne

for any guitar players in here, the only effect is an MXR Flanger. Otherwise it is a stopped tailpiece Les Paul straight into a highly modified Fender Princeton Reverb, kinda Tweed-ified with a British accent. Hope you guys like 'em, especially the editing process. Comments, even bad ones are quite welcome as this is the first I've linked them on the Web.

Note: These are meant to be LOUD! If you can't or won't play music loud, you can get proper bass response with a "Loudness" switch or an appropriate EQ with bottom boost.

@enorbert: Okay, I got all the tracks (and know now how to write your login-name without looking). But this morning I must plant some tomatos, ... darn. How do you say cucurbitacea in English? ... cucumbers, too. My trailer needs a fixing and we are invited somewhere for a barbecue... The music will be too far away from all of that, or I would have to turn it up to a level that arouses interest with the left-, right-, center-fascist movements in France. They would mistake me for a young man and there is a war going on against youth and everything bearing enthusiasm...

I'll get back to that music and listen „carefully“.

I love that Black Books is still free on HULU, I've watched it twice now. Miranda is a fun one too.
