what do you find funny AND what do you find NOT funny.

here is a post that one can show both sides of themselves. As mankind is a complected being even in his own simplicity, and sometimes in his own "stupidity". So yeah lets through that in here as well.

when one does not complete that thought before acting. causes and effect.

I do not laugh at much anymore. some may say I have grown out of it. I say I try to just analyze everything to the end point. If then I see it as funny to me then I will see it, and sometimes I will get a chuckle out of myself. But that is my option.

where ones options may not be accepted therefore judgments will be made, but that is how man is, he judges others. Perhaps sometimes more then he should. When he should judging himself first then the maybe the other(s).

this maybe updated ---

I once heard a comic say, "Funny is when it happens to someone else. Not funny is when it happens to you."

I have almost never found TV comedies funny. I don't know whether this is because I don't have a normal sense of humour or whether it is the canned laughter track that puts me off. On the other hand, I am sometimes reading and a particular turn of phrase will have me silently chortling every time I re-read it. This used to annoy my mother no end. She would say "What's so funny?" and I would try to read the line out loud (usually failing to get to the end of it), and she would say, "Well, what's funny about that?"

We agreed though that Frankie Howerd was genuinely funny. We once went together to a recording session for one of his shows. What impressed us most about him was that when he had to do a routine again for the record, it was just as funny the second time around. I don't think most comedians could pass that test.

I'm very glad someone posted this.

I hardly laugh at all anymore. I mean, I laugh, but I don't laugh genuinely. I laugh at things which are funny in a light way, but they don't necessarily impress me. I want to be impressed at humour when I laugh. For something to really make me laugh genuinely it has to be cutting, intelligent, sharp, boundary-pushing in some way and quick-witted. Possibly slightly distasteful. Creative.

It's a shame, but I can't remember the last time I laughed really well. Like really well. And like I meant it. I used to laugh a lot as a teenager. Doesn't happen so much anymore.

Example of things I used to find very funny - well, most things by Chris Morris. Especially Jam and Brass Eye. Jam was probably the pinnacle of dark and surreal humour for me. Would love to find something similar.

Something I saw for real:

A one armed man (not funny) wearing a T shirt advertising a well known brand of chainsaws (funny, in a weird way).

Yes, I think in the IT Crowd he didn't have any hand in the writing or production so it's not really the same.

Here are some good ones from Jam. Quite surreal.

that was weird.
mr lizard & robbery were funny, too.
problem with british (tv) humour, the comparison to monty python always sort of lingers in the air.

it's good to see tech support finally getting a better sense of humor -- see attached photo, I got this when trying to get to youtube, but the image was way to big in the browser to get all of it.
