We are surrounded by farms of all kinds.

Some of the biological farmers are surrounded by chemical farmers and some apiarists have to dump part of their produce because it is too contaminated, their bees having no choice but to collect pollen from the shitty colza that is planted as green manure (which in itself is a good idea).

So what I eat is lots of vegetables from my own garden and those of a guy nearby, very little veal from the same guy, cheese from two or three other people that I know: Tomme de Pré-En-Pail, Gruyère de Carrouges (also a formidable dairy-farm), nowadays also the cream cheese from the same producer, yogurt from yet another farm that I know personally. There is but one sheep's milk chease worth talking about in our region, but it is formidabel, the choice for goat cheese is bigger, but I prefer two producers. Apples come from my friend and neighbor although this year is catastrophic. There will be some early Pirrouettes and Akanes, later Pilot, Cox Orange and maybe some Pâtes de Loup (which is not certain). We have, ourselves, a good harvest of raspberries and pears, some already canned in syrup.

For the honey, I prefer another friend's produce, but she has lost lots of colonies due to varoa, attacks by Asian hornets and the use of neuro-nicotinoides on the fields nearby. Bees just die; that is their main characteristic these days. They die.

So no honey. I would not buy any of the above listed food, nor those I forgot, in a super-market. Biological Honey, which comes from Germany and appears to be certified, is a mixture of local European honeys (of else unknown origin) and asian imports (not further specified).

... Bread. I forgot. A friend of mine is a baker. I know the fields on which grows the corn and have co-financed the mill which produces the flour. This is the Best Bread I have Ever eaten in all my life.

This is not describing an achievement, but the current state and an ongoing struggle to improve.

I cannot avoid that my body is assimilating glyphosate, endocrine disrubtors and all kinds of poison, but I will not go out and find them to deliberately suck them in.
