Here's a few gems that I've enjoyed. First few are English. Write these down.
*
New Tricks as in "You can't teach an old dog........" Retired cops are hauled in to work on cold cases. Witty and good.
*
Castle A Rich Novelist teams up with a detective. He gets book ideas, she gets cases solved. Lively.
*
The Mentalist An ex-showman & psychic teams up with police to solve crimes. Light and watchable.
*
The Gentlemen You can't summarise this show. Just watch it. Light hearted & entertaining. Especially funny are the on-screen 'translations' of jargon.
*
The Vietnam War 2017. A documentary on Vietnam's struggle for independence, from 1945 to the present. Most interesting is the Vietnamese perspective. It's also a textbook lesson on politicians lying to the American Public. Covers Watergate in passing. It's done at the perfect time; Old guys that remember are alive, but the tensions have died down. Everyone should watch this once. A learning Experience.
*
Dopesick On the Oxycontin tragedy/crimes/whatever. It highlights the bribery & corruption, that "Doctor knows best" is pure B.S. People touched by this, or any addiction will cry a river, but that might be therapeutic. A learning experience. You'll never completely trust the FDA or drug companies again.
EDIT: Sorry for repeat recommendations. I've mentioned some but not all before.
