What shall I do now?
I know! I'll type "What shall I do now? I know! I'll type "What shall I do now?"." |

So no matter how many times you add 0, it will always be 0. But the idea that numbers continue to infinity is valid because they do move towards it. If you count up indefinitely, you reach infinity. |
0 does not indicate direction.
|
I wonder about "0 divided by 0"? I guess the answer would be any number?

No, because you have nothing to divide. So its zero.

0.999... = 1
1 - 1 = 1 - 0.999... = 0 infinity*0 = infinity*(1 - 0.999...) infinity - 0.999...*infinity > 0 Or something? Ok, I'll admit it. It's not valid. Anyway, you can't draw the conclusion that 0*a=0 to infinity*0 = 0. You can't treat infinity as an integer. So you need to take some sort of limit as a approach infinity. That's my geek-talk for today. :) |
You can't count up to infinity. Any number, however large, that you can count up to is finite.
|
I am saying that counting up does get you closer to infinity, unlike adding 0 to itself.
I was reading and it says that 0/0 = any number. |
