My daughters teased me the other day because I was reading a real book instead of my Kindle paperwhite :)

Yeah the whole TLDR thing baffles me as well as screen text opposed to print on paper, although I do rather like Audio Books especially while driving on longer excursions.... are these days but still a nice frosting on the cake of that suspended state of consciousness sometimes achieved while traveling.

Given his/her post history, I think nothing good can be expected from him/her.

interesting:
on the 20th, they edited ALL their posts to "...." - out of annoyance and spite no doubt.
then on the 21st they start trolling this thread with pointless remarks.

no other contributions.

i think LQ should shut this user down completely.

I often wonder why there seems to be an inverse proportion between intellect and the desire to advertise the lack.

I've just read Before I go to sleep by SJ Watson. I would be curious to get your feedbacks...

Have you noticed this only on the Internet or better: “since the Internet?”. Well, I have. Meaning that it had previously been much the same, only we did not notice.
If the population of our Occident comprises 10% clinical narcissists, nothing [claims|imposes] that they are all “bright” people at the same time.

Aaaand.., on topic, I have read “The Arab of the Future” by Riad Sattouf and am “currently reading it” until the last volume has been published. The guy does us all a great service. Even if his movies are ... how do you say « Bof » in English? You do not need to watch them. His autobiography in comic is fantastic. Start with volume 1 if you can.

^ that's the first i hear about it.

do you know if it's any good?

I hope this is not a misunderstanding, I created. Sattouf has made two films but none based on his graphical novel. The first one is a teenager comedy, not even bad, the second a satirical critique against fundamentalist societies of all types, but hidden so deeply in flat dumb acting, that I cannot recommend that movie. Some people like it, though, and my wife finds it downright amazing... makes me think. Maybe I am just dumb.
