The worst movie I have ever seen is without question Killdozer, closely followed by Terror Is a Man.

Mystic Pizza, in my opinion Julia did not redeem herself until Sleeping With the Enemy.

unfortunately the worst film i ever saw was just plain boring so i didn't watch it until the end and just forgot about it soon.
currently this holds true for many TV series, and often they're quite good initially but quickly degrade (usually around season 2, it's a good sign if it happens later).

there is of course a whole meme about bad and cheap films that are actually very entertaining - in that genre, i'd say schwarzenegger's 80s stuff stands out for me. or robocop.

but i assume the original question was meant literally.

rule of thumb:
if you watched it 'til the end it can't have been that bad.

How you want to define "the worst movie you have ever seen" is entirely up to you. I can't tell you what that is, because what maybe "bad" to me, maybe quite the opposite to you, or vice versa. But perhaps I should have said movies.

Yes and no. I see what you're saying, and in part I do agree with you, but as above, what's "bad" to you, maybe "good", or even "just ok" to someone else.

Bottom line: it's up to you how you wish to define it.

Personally, and as an example of what I'm saying above; I'd have to agree with "Snakes on a plane" being one stupidest movies I've heard of, I say "heard of" because I have not watched it and have no plans to, given that, "snakes on a plane", and? How about "Snakes on a train", well at least you might be able to throw them out the window, good luck with opening a window on a plane 100,000 feet in the air, unless you want that plane to implode, and well... die. The whole concept is stupid (to me).

it's "Cocktail", but yes, some Tom Cruise films are definitely pretty low quality.
Days of Thunder also sucked in many ways, but I still watched it til the end because it's bad in a unique and entertaining way.

In general:
I think what I hate most in movies is endless regurgitation of certain memes & stereotypes, lack of inventiveness...
Tom Cruise certainly contributed his fair share to that.

I actually love Tom Cruise and Cocktail. Cocktail is a pretty bad film, but I like it because it's typical naff 1980s fare. I find it entertaining. As for TC in general, I find him an extremely watchable actor - Interview with the Vampire, Eyes Wide Shut and Magnolia are all excellent. I also quite enjoyed Collateral [fun fact - it was the first use of an HD camera in a major motion picture].

As for the worst film I've ever seen, there are too many to mention. I think there's a difference between bad films and films one didn't enjoy, they're both a little subjective. I always remember Re-Cycle annoying the hell out of me because it started so well but descended into boring, cliche-ridden tat very quickly, kind of like The Hunger.

I concur with those earlier in the thread who said The Phantom Menace and Event Horizon, both dreadful.

It's aged pretty badly. Zombie films in general are poor, I think the best I've seen is 28 Weeks Later. All the rest I've seen have been terrible.

I can't really post on the worst movie I ever watched. When I don't like a movie, I turn it off. It does raise another interesting point, however: If the movie is judged a disaster, why stay watching it?

I quite like the terrible "B" sci-fi horror movies, and I agree 28 Days Later was, quite literally, bloody brilliant.
