Wanted: Ringtone Bundespost 90-ies
 

Hello Germany. I hope there is anyone able to help me. I am looking for the ringtone (klingelton) of the standard line (festnetz) telephone as installed by the Bundespost in the early 1990-ies.

Of course I cannot describe the tone in text. But it was a purely electronic tone, not trying to mimick or imitate a classic mechanical ringer.

Maybe one of the characteristics was this. Usually a ringtone imitating a ringer goes like this: ring-ring---------ring-ring-------ring-ring. Well, the tone as used in Germany was more like plidlding-plidlding-plidlding----------plidlding-plidlding-plidlding. So triple sequences with pauses instead of double sequences with pauses. At least that is how I recall it.

I know, it is laughable description. But I have special memories of the time in Germany. I would be happy if I found that tone again.

Oh, I am looking for the mp3. Not for the ringtone in any smartphone format.

Hi TBone, thanks a lot. Funny that you found it, while I did not. I know how to enter "festnetz" in Google. Sometimes I think Google is giving me just the links I am already familiar with. (Sounds familiar for Google's policy? no pun intended)

However, I think this is almost the tone. It is very similar, but I don't think it is it. It is also possible my memory deceives me. Although, how likely it would be there were multiple, similar ringtones in the analog age? Heck, you were happy if you had a phone.

So, while I am grateful I leave the question open for a while longer and am still open for more suggestions.

I am sorry Ondoho, not that one. The tones are too short and too fast, trying to imitate a mechanical ringer. The other one, the link posted by TBone had exactly the right tempo, but I am not sure about the melody.
