Question W$ndows Power shell

Hi Guys,

I haven't used and updated w$ndows in a while and today I'm working on a pc doing updates and etc etc... I found there is a program called W$ndows "Power" shell. I opened it and you could run some of the linux commands on it such as rm, ls, etc. have you guys heard about that? what is your input about it? I'm shocked! LOL

You can get it for all versions from XP on. It has its own weird syntax for which those linux commands are built-in aliases:
get-childitem = ls
set-location = cd
...and so on.

I've never used it, but I've read that it's somewhat popular ... not very, but it's not like no one uses it.
I just Googled for a minute and found this manual.
Microsoft's site has this to say about it:
Quote:
Windows PowerShell™ is a task-based command-line shell and scripting language designed especially for system administration. Built on the .NET Framework, Windows PowerShell™ helps IT professionals and power users control and automate the administration of the Windows operating system and applications that run on Windows.
Wikipedia has this to say about it:
Quote:
Windows PowerShell includes its own extensive, console-based help, reminiscent of man pages in Unix shells via the Get-Help cmdlet.
