Should I install Mandrake on a 80 gig harddrive so my computer boots Redhat 9 and Mandrake, or should i keep Windows XP home? XP has Photoshop Elements, Adobe Premeire, VB, VB.Net, Office XP Pro, and a few games. like MOHAA, BF1942, Groundcontrol. The third option I have is installing Mandrake on a different, less capable machine. with 256 megs of pc2100 ram and a 2.2 celeron. The graphics card is an offbrand 32 meg, but I will install my GeForce 4 in it. Vote before 12:00 AM Central time, January the 11th (Sunday)

depends on what you want to do with mandrake!
but anyway, why would you want Mandrake and RedHat on the one Machine? they're so similar! mandrake is better than xp as a server! |
I heard mandrake is good for multi-media

what are u using redhat for???

Just put Linux on there and erase windoze. I just saw another post that had a good way to get rid of it.
mkreiserfs /dev/hd** Replace the ** with you correct drive and partition(s). Later :D :D :D :D |
gtk-gnutella, amsn, gimp, mozilla
|
I rekon...
keep all 3 they are all good in their own respects,
but i would put the one that you are going to use the least graphics intensive programs on your old macine to cut back on loading times thats what i think! |

If you want to install a third operating system I suggest BSD. You will learn a lot more working with BSD than a second Linux distribution. ___________________________________ Be prepared. Create a LifeBoat CD. http://users.rcn.com/srstites/LifeBo...home.page.html Steve Stites |
