Vista and the Debian There after.

Good evening all,

Just thought I would share my brief experience with Microsoft Windows Vista, Ultimate. To begin I had installed the newly obtained OS to conclude my hardware would not be able to utilize the much hyped Aero visuals. I had previously been using Beryl without any issue or struggle, which made me question this install to begin with. From a unbiased point of view I can really see no major improved in regards to most required functions. All of these needs (as stated my many GNU/Linux users) have been included in GNU/Linux for sometime. As I share these thoughts my Debian installation is going swimmingly.

Thanks for the read,

Regards.

I too tried Vista and well...Found it to be strange and run pretty slow on my 4GB of RAM and Intel Core 2 Duo which I find to be a decent machine. I also would like to note that my Etch machine is the love of my life. It's a shame I can't marry an OS.

Debian - will you marry me...?

Well I have seen car enthusiast claim much more than just marriage. I agree with you CarlWill that Vista is a hardware thirsty beast, one that I am not willing to feed. It sounds completely biased from a GNU/Linux forum to simply bash Windows Vista, but it is completely over-hyped. Last night after the Vista ordeal I looked at Debian and my OS X systems with a confident stare that these two platforms have nothing to worry about.

It's a good thing you are joking (right?), or else I would find this quite disturbing....
