VH1's 40 worst Heavy metal songs

Okay, I won't argue with the choices, but has anyone seen this? This is the most 'PC' crap I've seen in years Warrent's Cherry pie runs in around top 5, because it's "offensive". At the same time, others are chitcanned because they sing about love. None of these wusses got the joke?!!

VH1 has become extraordinarily lame ever since they stopped doing "Behind the Music" and started doing all those "Let's have a bunch of pseudo-witty nobodys make sarcastic comments about popular culture."

And yes, I caught a little bit of the worst-metal-songs one today (and saw some of the "least metal moments" one they've been doing recently). If they took "Cherry Pie" seriously enough to think it was fantastically bad, they completely missed the point.

Used to be whenever there was a "Behind the Music" on, I'd sit and watch it even if it was about someone I didn't care for, just because they were always so interesting. Now they've thrown all the interpersonal conflict, biographical history and creative foundations of popular music out the window, and instead sit around and say "Boy, Quiet Riot, they sure were lame."

Agreed, but in some points, it seems like a lot of these twits weren't even around in the times that the songs were popular. My Cherry Pie reference was partially because something similar that's played today wouldn't have "graced" the airwaves back then.

More VH1 'PC' Fun

VH1's worst "dirty" songs

Overall, seems like they mix "dirty" up with "sensual". Or maybe, they asked people about their "dirtiest songs, then whipped the premiere choices into some psychopathic dreamworld.

Not defending the songs, just commenting on where the PC police seem to have settled there. Some of the "professional" opinions seem a little skewed.

#39 - Give it up - "How dare they be so honest!"

#35 - "that may be a little more personal than I'd like to get"
In general, a bunch of guys who have no interest in girls seem to comment on all these, along with their N.O.W. sisters. Or man haters, depending on the song. (Nothing against either, just that neither were the targets of the music.)

#34 - "Tom Jones is too old to be singing about sex"

#33 - "if you're talking about trains, you don't have a car, and that's not sexy" [paraphrased]

#32 - "freak" "means "F^^k", and that's annoying in a song"

#31 -"tease me please me" - scorpions - bad because it's a "tonight/see ya" song

#30 - "whoop there it is" - this is a dirty song?

#29 - "I want action tonight" - poison - bunch of never-been-laid guys - "how dare they sing something like that!!! It offends women!"

#28 - bump-bump-bump - p. diddy - "bad for the kids"

#27 - cradle of love - billy idol ------- PEDOPHILE!?? (Personal favorite, BTW, and I was a "kid" at the time, she could break into my place any day.)
)

#26 - come baby come - "too bossy"

#25 - "dip it low" - "too instructional" "just gross"

<smoke break>

#22 divinyl - "I touch myself" "that's not a song, it's something I do"

#21 - rod stewart - "do you think I'm sexy" - "women don't want to be asked"

<commercial break - "the following songs are so unsexy they couldn't turn on a hilton girl">

#20 - rick james (bitch!) - "you blew my mind, 69 times" - "juvenile"

#18 - "stroke me stroke me" - "ewww"

#17 - "Tonight" - "Tooooooo Sexual!!!!"

#16 - "Love me for free" - "HOW DARE YOU!!!"

<I'm gonna get sick...Somebody pick up this thread if I lose my lunch, k?

#15 - "Kiss" - "Let's put the X in Sex" - "There's nothing 'clever' about it" (were they around in the 80's?!!)

#14 - "Peaches and Cream" - "I think about Ice cream, not sex"

#13 - Vanity - Not sure the name of the song, but the girl from "last dragon". Related to bill clinton, like it was a conspiracy or something. The dress was the problem, apparently.

#12 - Ricky martin - whats your sign/she bangs - Errr, what's not dirty about this?

#11 - "too explicit (oral sex)" - Imagine that in a dirty song category!!!

#10 - R. Kelly - "this was before we knew about his child molestation charges"

#9 - "touch me" - samantha fox - "skanky!" (another long time favorite)

#8 - "Offensive on so many levels" (don't know this one, personally)

#7 - "John Parr" - "Naughty Naughty" - "Strippers danced to it!!! Ewww!"

#6 - "Do me" - "Too honest"

#5 - Everyone who commented on this one should be taken out back and shot, or at least become a mormon or similar anal retentive cult.

#4 - Okay, this one is bad, but I'm not throwing my hat in with this crowd yet.

#3 - Mixed feelings, but still "Ewww" is vh1's best attempt?

#2 - "Color me bad" - "I wanna sex you up" - Okay, this one truly sucks.

#1 - Olivia Newton John - "Physical" - "Didn't turn people on, just made them want to work out." The fact that I was a kid, and got the clue doesn't seem to inspire these castrated goombas.

Okay, done, just wanted to make my mark as pathetic as that may be. Mostly, attacking 80-90-2000 songs, while ignoring 50, 60, 70 songs seems a little like VH1 needs new management, IMHO.

Hmm...
I wonder why a Nine Inch Nails song wasn't on there. Don't get me wrong, I love their music, but some stuff is pretty raw, like Closer, which has been misinterpreted nationwide by the simple line "I wanna f*** you like an animal". Looks like our music channels have yet again deteriorated .
