VB in Programming Forum - why?

Just wondering why so many VB 6 questions are showing up the programming forum. Porting VB to any Unix would be a massive undertaking, so my assumption is these questions are windows-based.

Yes. That's a non-*nix forum, so any OS questions can be asked in Programming.

However seeing as this is predominantly a Linux community I think it would be better if users sometimes respectfully pointed them to other forums which specialize in such topics.

As someone who is a VB/C# (aka - Windows) developer, I enjoy seeing these posts as it gives me a small chance to pay back the community for the help I receive here.

True, there are many other forums where they would possibly receive more/quicker responses, but I've only seen 2-3 in the last week. The forum hasn't really been flooded with them.

Programming is what it is.. programming in general. Just like the General forum here, people ask Windows questions here which this site wasn't designed for but hey, if they trust us Linux users to help them with Windows problems, it's all fair game.

As Gambas is growing more and more, people with Visual Basic experience are able to write Visual Basic applications for Linux => Increase in the number (and quality) of Linux programs. Therefore, I am sure that the questions about VB in the programming forum will continue to increase every day.

I believe that this is a good thing, since VB is no longer Windows-only.
