I would not recommend changing the man path, as it will confuse some program installers, so they might put the man pages in the wrong place.
The irony gets thick here folks, in the man man page it mentions the file:
/etc/manpath.config
That is where you can change where man looks for the man page files.
Can I just point out 'man' in this context is short for manual (as in text book, not 'by hand').
It has NOTHING to do with your (or anyone else's orientation).
Just put them back/rename to the orig name or you'll break the man pages system.
I was expecting a reference to the woman(1) man page!
/usr/share/man/man1/woman.1.gz:
Code:
.TH woman 1
.SH NAME
woman \- a complex living organism
.SH SYNOPSIS
.B woman
[ talk | shop ]
.SH DESCRIPTION
As yet no\-one has managed to successfully document all the rules of interacting with this organism. It appears that as soon as
.I woman
believes that the rules are known, they change the rules.
.PP
Many poets have attempted to reduce this tendancy by waxing lyrical
Of course there are many other versions of what should go into this man page, no doubt all wrong

Real men leave them in /usr/share/man, though.

help me plz thx and know im not a troll
LOL
I can't stop laughing at this. It's hilarious.
As others have pointed out, leave it as MAN. And MAN stands for MANUAL. What would WOMAN stand for?
This is the greatest post of all time, by the way. You just made my day.
And jschiwal, in this case, it's even funnier the second time. And every time after. Because then it's just a little more convincing that he's serious about doing it.
I've moved this to the General forum. I am also baffled by what the OP is trying to achieve. Manual pages have nothing to do with sexual orientation, so its probably a good idea to leave them in their original location.

Sheesh. Everyone knows how you handle this one. Here you are issuing commands and you should know better.
