But it only costs 50 cents to send a package from China to the US. Seems a very old postal agreement lets the sending country basically charge two times what they charge for local. So a package to China from the US might cost $5. No wonder when I buy stuff online they ship it via China post and I just have to wait 6 weeks but free shipping.

Yeah, but the package from China takes at least 2 weeks in my experience.

You are a patient person to wait 6 weeks.

They probably are sent via boat that stops at multiple ports.

My experience with Chinese packages is that many are damaged on arrival.

And the second package was still damaged.

"You get what you pay for." is still true today.
