USB thermometer that works w/ linux?

Hi, I'm a high school student, and in my chemistry class we are required to do a science fair project, and I'm doing a c++ Celsius to Kelvin converter. My question is, does anyone know of a thermometer that will plug into a USB port(or other port on my computer that will allow me to use the input) that works under linux? If anyone knows anything, it would be greatly appreciated.

Oh yeah, I would prefer this thermometer be cheap (<$30). Thanks:)

would this work under linux? http://www.vernier.com/go/gotemp.html,
I'd prefer something that would work under linux, but if it only works on windows then I can deal.
