tried to remove linux and system cant detect hard disks?

This is a friends machine [a Gateway 960 server] and she wanted linux off and xp on. She is trying to convert this server to a workstation. I tried to fdisk /mbr and then setup xp. It was a No go. So I then went and fdisk and deleted everything except a logical drive that will not let me delete. I created primary , formatted, and tried to setup xp- but it stops saying setup did not find any hard disks to check to see if they are connected, etc... It has 2 hard drives in it; they are Seagate Cheetah Ultra 320 SCSI drives. I check bios and here is what I found:

Bios Utility/ Advanced

IDE CONFIGURATION
ONBOARD PCI IDE CONTROLLER [BOTH]
PRIMARY IDE MASTER [NOT DETECTED]
PRIMARY IDE SLAVE [NOT DETECTED]
SECONDARY IDE MASTER [ATAPI CDROM]
SECONDARY IDE SLAVE [ARMD]

I went to Gateway website & found the specs for this machine. I found a controller/misc
and under that it says LSI U320 LVD 1- CHANNEL SCSI ARRAY CONTROLLER (520)
I am lost and need advice to point me in the right direction as to what I need to do next?

Thank You in advance!

You probably need a driver disk so that XP knows how to handle that particular SCSI controller. You should be able to find out how to get/make one for LSI's Web site.

OK I found the page with the drivers on it; but there are soooooo many of them I have no idea which one to get? They have dos, linux, windows 2000 & win xp drivers? So do I need xp drivers? And do I install them with f6 during xp setup?
Thank You for the help!:)

Pressing F6 during XP installation was invented for this purpose.
