tool question: do you bother owning a spudger for your devices?

The last time I had to open up one of my laptops and work on the guts, it came to my attention that I lack a certain tool. The instructions I was reading called for a "spudger." Tool with a wide broad edge for prying (and also pushing down--I was reconnecting the laptop's network card). I didn't have one and hadn't heard the word. After learning what it was, I kept thinking I should buy one; but every time, I ask myself "Is there something these spudgers can do that a flathead screwdriver can't do?" Any number of sources sell spudgers, suggesting that there's something.

Putty knife. Xacto knife, flat blade, single edged razor for utility knife, jewelers screwdrivers, all depends how much width as well as thinness you require.

A screwdriver is metal and has sharp edges, it can scratch a laptops plastic casing.
I do not own a spudger, but I have plenty of these lying around; some of them are hard & big enough to do the job admirably.
