Say sorry if I misunderstood or miss-expressed anything. I think I am a racist myself.

What OP said was a process of generalization, from a single event to a tip. There are plenty of people with poor English really live in America. They are all included in the title of the this thread. Don't you see the title is racist? Read the first sentence of the OP.

About the "Hong-Kong, USA": If the tip were "Don't buy from eBay sellers with self-contradictory profile", I would say that there is no racist.

If "racist" is a very severe word, I say sorry to you. I don't want to blame anyone here.

By the way, what does "OP" mean here? "Opere citato"? Or "Original Post"? Thanks.

I think that central idea of the first post lies around this phrase.
Quote:

It could be someone falsely claiming (in violation of eBay rules) to be within the U.S.
Which is (to my opinion) pretty reasonable advice.
Also, for me racism is associated with hatred towards other race, or claiming that one race is superiour to another. I don't see anything like this here. Maybe racism means slightly different thing for you?

Take a look.
Means "Opening post", "operator" (on IRC), but to me it looks like on linuxquestions "op" normally refers to the person that made first post. Which means it is "original poster". I might be wrong here, see more opinions.

About the central idea of the OP, I think that you and I concentrated on different parts. I am somewhat too sensitive to racial items, that's the reason why I said I am a racist myself. And your understanding is more rational.

About the word "racism", you are right. I do use it as a mild version here.

Thanks about the explanation of "OP".

Anyway, you are right. Be careful when you are doing business with Chinese.

Rather, I'd say be careful when doing business with anyone.
I've bought batteries for my laptop from Chinese sellers on ebay, and had no problems. But I made my choice after looking through pages and pages of feedback, not based on nationality.

Wow ... This thread started out as a simple pointer to avoid sellers on E-Bay who cant communicate properly, and slowly it progressed to something akin of a flame war ...

Talk about "Tangential Developments!"
