@mrmazda: For literally thousands(!) of years, people have been engaging in this sort of "mathematical exercise" for thousands(!) of years. As though there was actually some sort of "sword of Truth, shrouded in Mystery against everyone but (of course ...) The Elect." Magically slicing through all the problems in our actual lives.

"If only it were so easy ..." Gosh, the problems of this world have already been completely figured out, but you are not privy to it. (Or: "You just can't do the math ...")

I suppose that this is why, when "magically invited" to become "a Mason," I politely declined. I have never paid any further attention to the idea since, although I respect it as a social institution. I've never said anything against the folks who did join it, and I love to attend their pot-lucks as a guest. But it was never "the thing" for me. (Likewise the Boy Scouts' "Order of the Arrow." Yes, my troop selected me. Thank you. But it just wasn't my thing. I guess I just don't dig "secret societies.")
