Just a comment on the Michio Kaku video: While I agree on his assessment of Religious Faith I am once again disappointed in his "soft pedaling" with regards to Science, which I perceive to be his agenda which is far more about popularity and public persona than hard Science.

Let me explain. If a person in the distant future read about automobiles with automatic transmissions at a time when no oil existed anymore (yeah it's a stretch but you will see why it is merely a condition for analogy shortly) so that it was impossible to reproduce such a vehicle, it would still be possible to verify all of the components and determine if, in principle, it did actually work when such a fluid was available.

Similarly while an exact reproduction of The Big Bang is not at all likely, the record of all it's components that we understand to test so far have been consistent since colliders can reproduce the energy levels thought to exist, and borne out by WMAP among other tests/observations. Inflation may seem a bit sketchy but then we are just discovering the most basic bits about Dark Energy, Dark Matter and especially Quantum Gravity, all of which play important roles in the characteristics of the early universe. Much like the automatic transmission auto above, absent an important component, we can't take it for a test drive, at least physically, so it must remain Theory (in the Scientific definition of that term) and not Law. The simple fact is that if Big Bang is wrong, then it can only be supplanted by something far weirder, since it has been subjected to roughly 100 years of somewhat well-funded query and experimentation in concerted attempts to prove it untrue. So far it has resisted all of that. The odds are quite high that Big Bang is at least part of the answer and will only require some likely minor component (like oil of the right viscosity) for an actual, physical test drive.

Shame on Mr Kaku for his lack of spine, if not commitment to The Scientific Method. In the real world, most things aren't divided Black and White, True and False. Most are conditional and depend on specific variables resulting in Levels of Confidence... or lack thereof.

Kind of sad how blind you'd have to be to see that in two thousand years or so
https://m.malaysiakini.com/letters/28609
religion has done nothing good if not bad for this planet‽

When the tail is pointy call it a fairy but not in a discriminating way like more than half of religion*...

I guess I could imagine fairy tales with no bad guys, no pitfalls whatsoever and just happiness and good times forever tho apparently the average religious people can't?

I also don't understand something. When i was younger i didn't believe much then later did believe in God and nothing changed to better in my life. It is almost it does not matter believe in God and Devil or not. None cares good or bad. Recent time events in my life proove it. I am honest but none believes..it is like conspiracy against normal people. On wikia it is written God and Satan are brothers..so does it matter which side people on?

In a somewhat larger context of course it matters. It matters whether one simply adopts someone elses principles without question or carefully over time considers what makes sense and works well for you in the conditions in which you live. It matters immediately to you as to whether you are living a meaningful life at the very least in your own eyes, and it matters to The Big Picture if you are part of solutions or problems. For most people such assessments are consistent and congruent, especially in relatively peaceful and somewhat comfortable times. It can be argued that it matters even more when living under oppressive conditions one example being growing up in a totalitarian state but life and principles are far more complicated under such extreme conditions, and even more so if one has a family.

Then one is faced with the question, "Do I just go along with the power structure (often, the majority of the society one lives in) and hope my family will be safer going along or do I risk working to change things in a structure that severely punishes, even wipes out, anything deemed in opposition to the status quo?".

That is an extremely difficult question to answer. For myself, the romantic side of me likes to think I would "join the resistance" but the simple truth seems to be that most, and possibly even me, in such conditions rationalizes it is just easier to "not rock the boat". In those cases I suppose most just go along until some tipping point is reached or realized. Ultimately, and however we arrive there, we all just try to be comfortable in our own skins and that seems to me to be reached by developing a set of principles and hierarchies, a code of values, that makes you proud of yourself even when the choices are hard... or maybe especially when the choices are hard.

If you were born with no existing knowledge of humanity what so ever, you'd go to hell ; or, is that only if you're a "wild animal" unlike Tarzan?

"The universe that we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no devils, no gods, nothing but pitiless indifference." - Dawkins

the laws of physics control & govern the universe, it does not love you, it does not hate you, just learn to stay out of its way and use it to make your life better, but get in its way and it will run you over and turn you in to roadkill

I wonder why some still don't but many were not allowed, to mix fabrics in their clothing say silk and cotton or some diddly?

But i speak from experience. Why did i have health problems at school? Why was i punished into doing stressfull job that blocked chakras? Why i almost suffered accident despite all life being normal good friendly person. It is almost like i was born to suffer and proove whoever is in charge is cruel which brings me to my first post in this thread..something is not okey with world we live in. I often get penalties for being honest aswell. I dunno what to believe anymore.

So, what is God up to when He permits innocent people to suffer — prolonged, grinding misery — and prayerful appeals to His mercy seem to fall on deaf ears? I honestly don't know.
And if they want people to work then they need stop taking away health and energy and opportunities.

Unfortunately regulation is not education. Why is the healthiest food the most expensive or there's no healthy food at all...

"religion, power and politics" - bless your aunt $usie's poltergeist, separation of church and state is a fairy tale!
