Well whatever he is, I sense intelligence behind him. Life, therefore. And life can only come from life.

So, an intelligent `bot` has a life, gifted by God?

I seriously doubt that only life can possess intelligence. You need to prove that intelligence is impossible without life.

I think somebody(Alan Turing?) said "There is no reason why a god wouldn't grant computer a soul". That's assuming a god exists.

Well since a `bot` can `have` things only in a figurative way, it being a lifeless object, it'll be more correct to say that certain creature having life gifted by God "has" an intelligent `bot` sycamorex. It was that very creature that I was both addressing and talking of in my post.

a God is not powerful enough to create a

What, complete ignorance of a couple thousand years of philosophy and science doesn't make a compelling argument? I'm shocked, shocked I say.

Do you think God doesn't have enough men faithful to him that he would need any such thing?
Besides, the bot named 'sycamorex' questions the very existence of God. So what is it? Another rebellious creation? That'll be one too many .

@ TigerLinux- I wasnt sure if your religion thread was trolling, or a joke.

How do you reconcile your religion and pretty much admitting you are using cracked windows software?

A couple of hundred hours on the moon in the lunar lander and about 4800 minutes on the surface in eva suits. We havent even had a proper look on Mars, let alone other bodies in the solar system that could (or could have) harboured life. Even searching the solar system is a bit of a joke, considering the mind-boggling number of other solar systems exist.

Stasticially I would think that its far more likely that life does exist elsewhere, but unless we 'luck out', until we've got off world/out system and had a proper search we will have no idea if life exists outside of earths atmosphere.

What? You mean to say that God "needs" people to be faithful to him? Egoistic God?

May be! After all, those humans who don't believe
in God, are also his rebellious creations.
Aren't they? So, why can't there be a rebellious
bot created by the God?

Well I don't pretend to know everything, of course... but so far I've never heard of it being found otherwise.

A computer -- it has as much "intelligence" to it as it has "life". But who gave both? So the computer's intelligence comes FROM life.

AFAIK there are religions which believe EVERY object in our world to possess a "soul". Why not a computer then?

Where did I say THAT in my post??...
And yet God obviously appreciates folks to be faithful. And among humans it is appreciated as well AFAIK.

Do you believe a `bot` has free will?

You said, since the God has many faithful men,
why would he need a bot, which translates to
because the God's "need" of having faithful
creatures is satisfied by men, he doesn't "need"
bots
.

As other creatures created by the God, have a
free will (except a LQ member (I hope he doesn't
mind the joke, and I also hope he doesn't read this))
,
so I don't have any reasons to believe that a bot
(created by God) cannot have a free will.

[/End of Trolling]. Period.
