Yeah, you wish. Hating microsoft is not a crime. It is just a personal issue of yours.

Nobody asked you to apologize, that is just your conception. I think you are blowing this out of proportion on purpose. Otherwise you would not have an argument here. Remember how this started? It was that ill-conceived
MS == NS
comparison by Mr. Strawn. I bet (hope) deep down you know that this is way out of line.

AFAIK, no "charges" were brought up against you. So why are you claiming that you have been falsely accused of a "crime"? Need attention?
Again, hating Microsoft is not a crime. It is your personal issue. My time is way to precious to waste for that matter. It is perfectly sufficient that I can avoid using their product.

Well, this sounds like a reasonable statement, at first. But it is really not. Most (if not all) large multi-billion companies care about their own bottom line first. If you want to be consistent with your non-support then do not fuel your car with gas. Even better, don't buy a car in the first place. Don't watch football games, basketball games, any sports that is broadcasted on national television. Don't buy food in the supermarket. I could go on but I think you are getting my point.

I think this is the point where your post "jumped the shark".

Honor is still alive in some cultures. It is sad to say it doesn't look like it is here to at least a few. You all make a mockery out of those that fought and died to only stand for what was right in your countries. With out honor, dignity and respect what can one say for themselves? It is sad to see that quality of something makes no difference to you. Quality of work use to be tied to honor, dignity and respect.
Honor, bloodshed, sacrifice ?
Yeah, let's cleanse this rotten world with fire![/SARCASM OFF]

I wasn't apologizing nor seeking attention. I was being sarcastic. You Know like, "Hey, I hate M$, let's call the micro$oft police!"

To add to my sarcasm I made the micro$oft police bit as my crime story for hating M$.

Did you see the two micro$oft police bit I did? Kinda funny...

The first bit, details what M$ will do after arresting me and the second bit was how a use a roll of pennies to slow down the micro$oft police.

I did all this in good fun.

It's good to have balance in a thread. Some serious discussions and some operating system insults. It makes the thread more interesting and not dull. Just as long there is no threats to anyone or a company.

A better analog. Remember the show All in the Family?

Where Archie and Mike debated issues. Mike was serious and impartial and Archie debated with hate and insults. That's what made the show funny and interesting. If Archie was like Mike, the show would be a bore.

So, it's not bad to have some Mikes and some Archies here.

@ Everyone in LQ

I said in a previous post. I insult and make fun of M$ here. In other forums within LQ, I am different and I help members whether they are using linux and window$.

Immature! Sarcasm is deconstructive or argumentative therefore provides no one any benefit. You were posting this to get attention.

Quote:
sarcasm
  • A cutting, often ironic remark intended to wound.
  • A form of wit that is marked by the use of sarcastic language and is intended to make its victim the butt of contempt or ridicule.

I did all this in good fun.
In good fun from who's perspective? Yours!
Immaturity really shows.

Yours along with Kenny doesn't provide balance. Just puts a immature perception into play. Waste of bandwidth.

Hypocritical a bit don't you think? Put one face on here and another elsewhere. Again maturity is lacking! Grow up an realize to belittle anything doesn't reinforce a stance. 'Cleverness is not wisdom' -Euripides .

Liked your post. Absent Minded.

Keep the faith Kenny and dv502. This thread comes with no hall pass or hall monitors.
Though the Mods may set me straight on that statement.

I usually never read these kind of threads. But I gotta say."You Guys/We Guys" sure made this one make me smile.

Yeah I know. But Did you notice the words for Sale were no where near the title or near the word charity. Fine Print strikes again.
Honestly, that didn't make much sense to me...
You derive all this from 'You guys...'. Me addressing someone else == 'freudian slip' and being a 'hall monitor'. Does the same thing happen if I say 'Hello'?

You are wrong onebuck!

I do have a sincere hatred of window$, But, I don't blast it everywhere because it is not allowed and I can be banned for doing so.

I hate window$, but that doesn't mean that I can't participate or help members in other forums.

The mods created this thread for the linux and window$ users to vent their issues with the OS.

But, in the real world nothing works that way -- and things get out of hand at times.

I'm not hypocritical. And accusing someone that way is bad on your part too. You never met me in person, nor did I ever met you.

And just because I hate window$ doesn't make me immature either.

Tell me onebuck, If somebody hates window$, macs, linux, solaris or any of the BSDs are they automatically deem immature?

Hating an Operating System so vehemently is immature.

You seem to have cut off the important part that MS got to where they are by being unethical in their dealing with the rest of the world. I did not say that "all" multi-billion dollar corporations have done that. MS has consistently done so since it's conception. My posts sole basis is upon supporting something with no morals or ethics and is corrupt although you seem to have managed to somehow take that out of it in your reply. If any single open-source project did such things they would be near dead after the very first dealing with others. But if you want to turn a blind eye to that it is your choice. For the record I don't even purchase food from stores that support things I am against, even though it may at times be much cheaper to do so.

I guess you guys weren't around in the heyday of the Window$ vs Macs flame wars back in the eighties and nineties.

I was around then. I actually quit my job when windoze 3.1 came out and got of puters for the most part. Job or not, I got so tired of reinstalling windoze to fix something that broke. Funny thing is, that still fixes a LOT of windoze's problem even today. Sort of strange how that works. Almost twenty years later and some things haven't changed much.

It's not like someone is throwing a gun around or threatening to hunt someone down. I haven't seen anything of the sort myself. It's really not your job to censor what is posted. It is to report posts and then let the people that have that job make the call.

If you report the posts and they conclude nothing is wrong, just unsubscribe and be done with it if you don't like the posts. Then everybody can be happy.

I was using the rules a point of reference to discredit his earlier post. I don't personally take offense to the post.

And if isn't our job to censor posts, then there would be no report button, since reporting in and of itself is censoring, because referring the authority to an offender using the authorities' rules via the authorities' system is using a controlling body to censor the offender.

The users job is to report if something posted is violating the rules in their opinion. It is not your job or my job to tell someone not to post something or that something they post is wrong. It is our job to report it. Do your part and report it if it is violating the rules. Then let the people that are supposed to make the decision make the decision. It's not your place or my place to make it.

To me, you are not trying to make a point, you are trying to bully your point by claiming they are violating the rules. Thing is, what you think, or I think, doesn't mean anything. You can't stop them from posting anything or edit their posts. That's what the moderators are for.

My point is this, either report them if they are violating the rules as you claim or just leave it be. You made the claim several times so why not hit the report button instead of the reply button? That is what we are supposed to do not just whine about a post we don't like.

@leopard

Where in my post am I making hateful statements on a member? I'm hating a product not a person.

Where is the sexual or vulgar language I am using? No where.

The only thing I may have violated is participating in flame wars with other members.

This has been going on since 2006. The only difference is I control my limits on how far I go.

Have you noticed that I didn't call you or onebuck names or made any hateful remarks towards both of you? No.
