What do you mean, and what's "mono-project_com"?

I know that, but what's "mono-project_com" and why does it "hurt"?

I think konsolebox was referring to the mono project as DrLove73 said.

Actual link is http://mono-project.com

It only hurts if you want to believe everything MS does sucks. Which is untrue. From a technical perspective, MS has done some nice things - and also some awful things.

I have never tried C# and don't think it's a bad language. It's just that I don't want to use anything that's controlled/standardized by MS, even if it's an open-source clone of it.

It may run on Akamai's servers but it is still running Linux. I would assume that M$ decided where to run it and knows that it is running on Linux. I seriously doubt they chose that blindly. If I was going to host a site, I would want to know what OS it is running.

That's not what I meant. And I don't imply any take of side. What I mean is that with it some developers from Linux may be tempted to move to windows since in some cases it would be easier to create programs there if they already have experience with it. i.e. the IDE of VS is really a lot easier to handle in most cases. Of course there's the exception of Netbeans but...

I'm not upset, it's a harmless little trick, but I can't help but laugh when I imagine a Windows user stumbling onto this page, seeing that link, thinking "I was going to go to microsoft.com next anyway! How convenient!"
