^^ Can we not do this please. Remember the idea that we treat each other with respect on LQ? If you are unable to offer a rational response to an idea or opinion, maybe you shouldn't be debating it?
I apologize. I will remove the remark I made on mattvdh.
That's not really true as has been pointed out repeatedly in this thread. You aren't debating BTW. You are arguing. When you fail to acknowledge the other person/people's points you cease debating and begin arguing. The quote illustrates the point. And yes this is trolling. I just got caught in the net again.
<flops overboard>
A debate is not a debate with out any arguments.
Debate or debating is a formal method of interactive and representational argument- wiki
Then Linux loses nothing. Oh, dropped from 2% to 1.5% of the desktop market because a couple of sheep in wolves clothing wandered off to play computer nerd with google software? Awesome. Less "ZOMG ur softwere sucks" bug reports...
haha...fair enough
I think I'm going to print this off and frame it in my office. haha.
You can call me a pundit if you want, but trolling isn't appropriate. Yes, I am deliberately provoking people, but that's how you get a good debate going! Sometimes you've got to add some gas to fire and make things interesting.
You refused to answer to my well founded and well explained arguments.
That made you loose any credibility left in my book.
P.S. At least you are intelligent to be warned about the quick sand pit I was digging for you.
And yes this is trolling. I just got caught in the net again.
LOL... Like I said, he brings nothing new to the table. Switches sides when he runs out of things to say about the op/sys he claims to champion. Then admits to trolling, but changes the definition, instead he's stimulating debate... lmao...
i think you are confusing community (users ?) with corperations. i think that redhat and novell (and to a lesser extent, debian) are scared that their corparate market share will diminish because google is a more popular name and has powerful marketing.
chrome os uses the linux kernel so there is no way it will make it disapparate (the same way that apple osx uses the bsdi kernel).
most of these corperate business deals dont affect me (i dont pay for rhel/ novell-suse).
I am not sure how you can include Debian in that list as it is NOT corperate backed. As a long standing member of the Debian userbase and a member on several differnt Debian forums I do not get the impression that Debian or it's developers are worried over such things.
How about YOU make a point once a year relevant to the conversation rather than mislabeling people and name-calling. stick to the topic!
I'm sticking to the presented information by you. Your the one bouncing around. If the kettle is black then I call it a black kettle instead of a pot being black. So you can understand the idiom;
Why does the pot call the kettle black then the pot is black not the kettle should it not be the other way around?
...
Just to clarify: The order of the phrase is actually irrelevant. Whether it is the pot calling the kettle black or vice verse, the effect is the same. The point is that while both are flawed (ie black), one cannot see its own flaws.
Unlike your poor representations that you seem to vary around. Now it's Google. What's next? You thought you had a valid means to tear down Linux but failed to do proper research of your facts. Your interpretation of a video presentation that Google Chrome would replace Linux. When actually the Google Chrome OS which is not released is based on a Linux kernel. That release will not replace a GNU/Linux distribution nor will it take market away. It will probably service people that are like you. Not informed about the intrinsic aspects of a system but will just be online most of their computer usage. Those that don't care about security or least are willing to let someone else provide a hopefully secure environment. Don't forget that Google Chrome will require specific hardware.
Research what I have said and tell me what it is that is not relevant to what you have misstated throughout this thread. I've been around the world for awhile and have met people like you. Floats like a butterfly
and never staying on anything long enough to matter. I think the definition for that would be someone who vacillates. I've started linking for definitions and reference so that you can understand those $0.50 words along with the reference. Hope that clarifies for you.
Attention Obama: Please take Windows out of Microsoft's hands, since you are the President, and place it under the GPL. I know you will, since you are an FOSS advocate.
