LOL Actually its a compiler for DOS 5.
It actually runs in dosbox but its too slow.
DOS 5?? Notwithstanding that MTK contradicted you by claiming you are writing a distro, are you making a DOS 5 compiler just for fun? Because unless it's someone in an extremely poor country using an ancient, falling-apart computer that came from a charity organization and that has had several dozen owners, who would be using DOS 5? I mean, when I first saw a computer running DOS 6 at a store, it was circa 1992. I think.

That's hilarious. I'd love to have that program. I'll start looking for it.

'$hista' should be "$hista".
'$leven' ,, "$leven"
When you sum up, there shouldn't be a comma before the word and.
I am not a native English speaker, but c'mon man... You're full of shit too. Also awesome to keep the conversation on topic by means of grammar nazi tactics, retard...
Oh, yeah - and two commas separating words.
Call us Linux users crap all you want, but all you're doing is trolling about M$ on a Linux forum, and either the Moderators or Jeremy will be notified. If you want to troll about M$, go on the PCWorld Forums or something. But not the Ubuntu Forums and not here.
As I said in post #2813 you and the others on the OT track (and that goes for mattvdh as well) should cut it out. So please do and keep it on topic, OK?
@everybody: this thread is called "The All New Linux vs Windows MegaSuperThread" for a reason. It resides in the /General forum for a reason. You may read opinions that do not match your own. Still that is no reason to treat people with disrespect. That goes for both sides of the discussion. The best way to get this thread closed is to post one-liners that explain nothing like "That's crap!" or keep dragging this thread off topic repeatedly. As for the contents of some posts in this thread: anyone can claim to be an "admin" or to have extensive knowledge of operating systems. However if you analyze those posts in a distro-agnostic way and focusing only on facts you'll soon realize that some claims were made without references, that the person in question admits in one post to "being lost" when it comes to Feeding The Penguin and that he is not even completely in touch with the history or business side of his chosen Operating System. If you want to counter such arguments effectively then "yes / no / yes / no" arguments don't win the battle, nor would any reply to "It's crap!" posts, but showing your knowledge and understanding of your chosen Operating System might.

Well, see, that's part of the beauty of it. You've got Red Hat, Novell (Suse), Oracle, IBM, etc. all pushing Linux into corporate environments. They have marketing agencies. Because Torvalds didn't try to copyright and totally control it, it has become a multi-headed hydra that all Microsoft's lawyers and marketing weenies have not been able to subdue.

@mattvdh
If you think that the alligations made in the last bit of this thread are falts then you are either too young to worry about current news events or have had your head barried in the sand for the past 30 years. These true and varifiable facts are the main reasons I quit buying Microsoft products. I just couldn't stomach supporting some one who has such lack of morals or intestinal fortitude as Bill Gates and his company.

Correction: Steve Ballmer and his company. I more hate him than I do Bill Gates, in part because of Gates's disability (Asperger's Syndrome, also mine).
However, consider me a friend to the FOSS cause. I am like Gates's arch rival, basically carrying his gifts into FOSS, ready to innovate. I have been a fan of FOSS for almost three years, and have used it almost fully (with the exception of proprietary device drivers {absolutely need these if I want to innovate} and proprietary browser plugins {need these to watch video and, especially, listen to radio on the Web}) since last July. Open source is innovative by itself, giving users the freedom to do things to the software you just can't with proprietary software. I vow to help add more innovations to FOSS to attract more users.
Your right about present day M$ & Ballmer. But the foundation is Gates & Allen. I think Allen has been trying to pay amends to past deeds but even he is not the big bad boy as Gates is. Don't fool yourself, Gate's involvement with M$ is still there and will remain so.
Open Source is a thorn in the side of M$. Loads of major players are backing some form of Open Source.
For some that think M$ is so great and lead the Desktop arena;
after getting some solid information. M$ & Windows (pick any of the family) are not on the up & up when it comes to business let alone software creation.
Do not forget that "Windows" became registered trademark without ANY foundation in law. Am I correct?
Few years back, M$ threatened to sue then Windows Commander for use of word "Windows" in it's name, so Ghisler changed it to "Total Commander" to avoid lawsuit. I can not comprehend WHY would M$ be bothered with it.
I also heard that the wxWidgets toolkit was originally called wxWindows, but Microsoft didn't like the fact that is contained the word "Windows" in it and forced them to change the name.
Similarly Linspire was originally called Lindows, but Microsoft didn't like it.
