Windows is made in America. xD So its American laziness and monopoly security. The average person doesn't know that alternatives exist so they are stuck with the factory system. IMO what makes things worse is that vendors like HP and others have programs on their PCs that you buy that are even less stable and more bloated than Windows itself!!! I use Vista on occasion (like now), and I took our Vista installation CD and installed that instead of what was on the system. It was a little better, but it still sucked. I don't get why vendors do that!!!
So you abide by the EULA and only have that Vista Product key install operating on one machine. Unless you have a multi-user license?
As to your bashing of America, not a very constructive statement and just seems as bait.
M$ employs programmers from around the world to facilitate their needs. Not all are resident in the states or Redmond.
Agreed, Leopard. Just because it's in the United States doesn't mean it's bad. It's simply M$ that makes it bad.
As an example: The Free Software Foundation is also based in the United States and many of the tools that are part of the GNU Project (i.e. coreutils, GCC, make, autotools) are also made in the United States. Do you think GNU and the FSF are bad? No? Then don't post that rant about the United States, please

The FSF may have its headquarters in the USA, but you can't claim that all that free software was made in the USA since GNU/Linux is an open and international effort.
With the world as connected as it is, it's almost impossible to stamp a "MADE IN" brand on something like software.
The first computer is the first computer, whatever technology it is build on. Of course I have parts of American-based companies in my computer, but most of the components were not manufactured int the USA. And even if I would drive a Buick or an other american car, wouldn't that change the inventor of the first car.
Sure, blame the Americans. We made it so you can have a darn computer in the first place. Microsoft doesn't represent the majority of us anyway. What grand, all mighty country do you reside in that makes you so much better?
Haha. I live in Virgina dude. I'm not against America, I'm just saying that in general we are lazy. (This is off topic and I'm sorry) People sue places like McDonalds and BK just cause they ate them everyday and made them fat. America has been soooooo dumbed down since it was first born because we have people here that are too ignorant and too stupid to realize the truth about certain things or claim that they made mistakes because of their ignorance and pride. I was only correcting vyver when he said "Are they designed with inbuilt insolvency which is a Japanese speciality?" because Microsoft is in Redmond, Washington. So its NOT because of a Japanese specialty, its American laziness and Monopoly security because there isn't a MAJOR operating system that really rivals Microsoft and can give them a run for their money when it comes to the average user. So they can do what they want and people will still use it. I apologize if you were hurt by my comment about us, but sadly its the way it is. This is not bait for flame wars, and I'm sorry if you take it that way.
You cannot generalize a population on such slim information. Sure, loads of individuals are over weight but that doesn't mean they are not productive or lazy. Your painting this picture with a wide brush. I've got colleagues who should not be sedentary but due to their work and assignments they just don't use enough time to exercise nor allow time to be active outside their work. Their energy is used to teach and improve other world populations understanding and knowledge.
If you use the BMI as a indicator for activity, you my friend are mis-informed. Several people that look big are so from genetics not stuffing their face.
Now, if you say that the American Primary Education system is failing thus producing individuals that are not prepared for extended education or as a work force. Thus providing non-productive individuals who lack the experience or knowledge to get gainful employment then I'll stand with you. Not Lazy but not having a viable skill or education to obtain gainful productive employment. That is not lazy but not being prepared!

I do understand all this, and thank you for your opinion. But we have people here who claim that because someone put a dress on a hanging zombie that over the years has turned black is racist. I understand that certain people are overweight because of genetics, however there are some people that are because they just plain eat too much. Then they blame someone else because of their choices and get away with it. Another is one lady for example passed hot chocolate that she got from Starbucks to her son of 4 years old in a moving vehicle and her son dropped it and burned himself. She sued Starbucks because the "Hot Chocolate was too hot even though the warning label said Caution: Hot!" That is why when you order something from Starbucks, its not as hot as you'd like it to be. These are just some examples of how ignorant people can be.
I'm not taking BMI for physical activity because I work at the YMCA here as a Swim Instructor, Life Guard and Personal Trainer for Aquatics. I have a lot of people come in who want a better workout routine (because swimming is better than running) and they're ripped. To customize their workout, we take the BMI reading and I work around that. I've had guys who can bench like 300+ come in with a BMI higher than mine and I don't work out that much to be honest. And that's because (like you said) I'm too busy working or doing college stuff to have time to work out. I'm not saying that ALL overweight people are lazy and what not, I should've elaborated more on that and I apologize.
And trust me, I'm glad I got out of the Public Education system last year...my 2 younger siblings however are still in it. My little brother can do math, read and write at a 4th grade level yet he's stuck in 1st grade. To graduate from Kindergarten, he had to be able to count to 100. Really??? That's it!??? Both me and my sister had to know addition and subtraction by the end of Kindergarten. Anyways, let's get back on subject here guys!!!

I doubt that the Japanese would ever build something as unstable as M$. I hear that Linux is pretty popular over there as well. There are no shortage of mirrors for downloading Linux distros from Japan.
I doubt that this is an issue of shoddy American Workmanship either. After all MACs are also made in the USA and they work just fine. So is other hardware.

I heard that story. Only in the version I heard it was a hot cup of coffee from McDonalds that someone spilled on his leg.
Another story is about an old lady who put her dog into the microwave to dry it. She then sued the vendor of the microwave because her dog came out, well, somehow 'inverted'. She argued that their was no sign on the microwave that said that the device is not "dog suitable" or something like that.
The more I hear of those stories the more I am starting to think that they are just urban legends. They never really happened but were made up just for entertainment purposes. It is really hard to believe that an adult person can be that dumb.
