The only thing Microsoft has ever been better at is advertising. That's why so many people know Microsoft but don't know anything else. When it comes to money I think they spend more on advertising than on R&D and that's why MacOS is technically superior. How much did MS spend to have those guys suspended on the side of a building to promote Vista? Linux, though, is different. It's superior in it's own way because people like us, the users, help make it what it is.

Microsoft Excel Fails Math Test

Sep 28, 12:11 PM (ET)

SEATTLE (AP) - Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) (MSFT)'s Excel 2007 spreadsheet program is going to have to relearn part of its multiplication table.
In a blog post, Microsoft employee David Gainer said that when computer users tried to get Excel 2007 to multiply some pairs of numbers and the result was 65,535, Excel would incorrectly display 100,000 as the answer.
Gainer said Excel makes mistakes multiplying 77.1 by 850, 10.2 by 6,425 and 20.4 by 3,212.5, but the program appears to be able to handle 16,383.75 times 4.
"Further testing showed a similar phenomenon with 65,536 as well," Gainer wrote Tuesday.
He said Excel was actually performing the calculations correctly, but when it comes time to show the answer on the screen, it messes up.
Gainer said the bug is limited to six numbers from 65,534.99999999995 to 65,535, and six numbers from 65,535.99999999995 to 65,536, and that Microsoft is working hard to fix the problem.

That's nothing yet. I read some place that the next version of Windows is going to be named Windows Sharia. It comes with a keyboard in a box that has two holes in it so you can insert your hands. If it as much as suspects that you're doing anything illegal, it chops them off.

If we don't see any MS staff without hands, we know that they're really using Linux at the office.

it depends actually ...

if things are "friendly"(sort of) and got no problem when they are reclaimed , repossessed and further developed concretely(this one is important) and sustainable with rightful sole ownership(the only way to be sustainable) ... so , your people and people of your neighbours decide ...

i dont believe in neutralities of all kinds , this can only happenned in silly minds doped with one of the worst opium in history of mankind ...

anyway ... whatever it is , linux is one of the only way to go for and strive for ... it wont be the last ...

Finding a usb webcam and tv tuner have been the only problems I've had with linux, and this isn't Linux's fault, the vendors refusing to either make a driver or let someone else do it for their lazy @%* is the problem.

I have been rethinking Windows' existence today and came to the conclusion that currently it is not so bad at all...

The thing is that Linux is so good (to a certain level - let's not overreact and get all fanboyed up) it is getting more and more users everyday. IIRC last sunday there was a article at Slashdot that said that Linux's current marktshare was about 0.81% on the desktop and it is growing exponentially. Let's say that in every 100 households there is already 1 Linux pc and the current growthrate is exponential so it's getting better every month. Yes month because last month the growthrate had inceased by 50%! So Linux is getting there

But why do I think today's Windows' existence is nice? Well it's a bad example and makes Linux looks better! People feel liberated en empowered when they have switched, especially with Vista. Something that wouldn't happen if Windows never existed. This makes way for freedom as well. Also Windows sucks and takes all the crap (virusses) on itself while poeple who actually are interested in computers will get spared (mostly) and get a crap-free experience . Windows is a crap platform with stupid people (_only_ from a computer security perspective!) who then make bate for black hat hacking and encrapment which we will mostly never get untill Windows dissapears or when people will not adapt Apple computers any further.

And by today I mean today. The fact that it had existed sucked.

interesting and kind of agree with it ...

how can people living with linux without actually living with microsofts or vista ... ??

with that ... i think linux might be considered as the "finer side of life" which frankly speaking , a lot of people are just not there yet ... people can have and enjoy their linux only after "toiling" for and under microsofts / vista systems as they well deserve it without much noise(in fact they dont have to make any noise at all as its "safe" enough by then) ...

if people are getting the wrong order of things done ... then i'm afraid seeing people having and enjoying linux is the same as visiting zoos seeing our primitives cousins and related are actually still living(feels great actually) ... what make it worse is that we make sure we can see that before visiting a zoo during a weekend outing or during a short vacations ...

//thats why i only use linux now in whatever i want to do with a computer ...
