Text Editors survey

Hello!

I'm collecting data about the IT community use of text editors, which I plan to talk about on a presentation in my university (UFRRJ.)

Would you like to help answering the survey, just visit the Google Forms: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...NHTyg/viewform

Basically, as I've said, it's a survey from which I'm going to map how different IT professionals or enthusiasts use their text editors, and what are their main OS, either home or at work.

If this post is against the forum rules, please, delete it. I'm immensely sorry for the inconvenience.

And I'd like to thank you all for your attention and time

What makes you think we're all professionals here? A lot of us are just casual hackers. And it should be pretty obvious what our favourite OS is!

Sorry, I'd forgotten to write "enthusiasts" on my original post.

I'm aware many of the users on this forum will answer their main OS is Linux, but there are also some users who have to work with Unix OS, for example. Also, this survey is not exclusive to this forum, as I'm trying to be as comprehensive as possible on understanding utilisation of text editors.

Thank you for the attention

I object to distros being called different operating systems. And my interests wern't adequately covered - so I cancelled out.
I did appreciate that "ed" got a guernsey as an editor though ...

Good luck with your respondents.

your survey is still flawed, I left comments in the other where possible to point some of them out.

I got stuck at the second question. What' an "Information Technology technician"? This is honestly the first time I've ever heard of that job category.

Thanks for pointing that out, I've changed the text to "What are the main Operating Systems (or distributions) you use at your work?" instead of only mentioning an OS.

Would you like to list a few interests you have, so that I may put them in the form?

Thanks for pointing out all those things. I've changed quite a few questions and answers based on your observations, thanks

About not being able to remove a selection all together, I'm sorry, I wish I could change it, but I think Google Forms don't let us do so

Some countries have this job, and it works more or less as a step before the university/college graduation. Overall, technicians are professionals that have knowledge of a subject to the extent they are able to work with this subject, but they aren't necessarily graduated on that subject. Nonetheless, I've changed this question as a not required one. Thanks for pointing this out

Thank you all for the tips and attention =]

maybe add a radio button "none of the above" or "N/A to get it to select nothing then? that would mean not applicable

I find them almost impossible to answer. I just can't do that box-ticking thing where you are supposed to grade something on a scale.

No scales here! I managed it and I'm wondering if I'm the only archeology graduate you have!

I've practically taken off many of the multiple choices that used to be there before. Now you may check any editor or system/distro you want. If you still don't want to do the survey, that's okay! Thanks for the attention anyway

Hooray, thank you! Yes, you are the only archeology graduate to answer this survey, but that's amazing. It's an awesome graduation
