Tar for beginners
It's free and open-source, but for Windows only right now. I might make it into a project just to attract people to make it more portable.
I couldn't find a good Perl module that creates tar files, so I decided to use a Windows port of GNU tar. To make it easier to use for other purposes, I created EZ TAR. *** Guess I can't post the link until I post five times, and I don't know anything about Linux, so you may never know where to get EZ TAR. Consider this a vote to abolish that no-link rule. |

I'd feel dirty if I did that. I'll just have to learn more about Linux so I could post the required number of helpful replies to allow me to post www[dot]polisource.com/EZ_TAR.html.
It's not like I'm making money from it. I'm not even asking donations. EZ TAR might be too simple for that, even though it's about 34 years overdue. |
