Taking apart an inspiron 600m

I need help/advice on taking apart my dell inspiron 600m. All I want to do is check the connections for my power button and those LED's on the top row.

Hmm, I wanted to know how to take apart the keyboard because my power button doesn't want to turn on my computer every once in a while. Eventually it'll turn on, but not immediately like it should. I figured it was some sort of loose connection I could fix, but the way it was set up didn't look like a loose connection. The LED's on the right (power, hard drive, AC, battery) have some sort of problem with them. The AC Line light doesn't turn on all the time. The numlock, scroll lock lights do not turn on either. Does anybody with this laptop have the sort of problem or have any idea to fix it? The laptop is out of warranty anyway and I don't want to take it to dell unless I absolutely have to.

My 600m has the same problems you are describing, so do the other three 600m's that friends of mine own. I think its a design flaw. Just a warning, dont be surprised that if in a few months the AC adapter stops connecting fully to the laptop all the time. That has happened to me and 2 of the three other 600m owners I know.

damn, this is kinda worrying. I'm not under warranty anymore I like the laptop, it's just built weak. Have you tried taking apart the keyboard and looking underneath? I can't seem to find anything and to me it seems like a system board problem. It could be a design flaw as you suspected. Maybe you might have better luck diagnosing it for your self?

How are you coping with those problems?

I forgot to ask. For those who had the same problems as I did with my 600m, did you take your laptop around often?
