Ok here's the deal, I had a nice dual boot with WindowsXP Pro, and Slackware 9. I had some problems with XP, but the CD got toasted (don't ask), so I needed and wanted windows98 on as well for various reasons. I had Slack on HDA1, and WindowsXP on HDA2. I installed Windows98 to HDC1. Then I booted from my SlackCD into Slack, and modified the lilo.conf file, to add a boot to windows98 on HDC1. However, when I choose the WindowsXP option it boots into windows98 despite being directed to boot from HDA2, and when I choose the Windows98 option directed at HDC1, it just goes to booting windows98 and does nothing. Slack still boots fine, and I checked and WindowsXP is still installed to HDA2(Drive C: while windows98 is on Drive D, but I can't seem to get into windowsXP. If I still had my XP cd, I would just boot into the recovery console, and then run fixmbr, then boot into slack with my slack cd and redo LILO, or the entire slack installation, but since I don't have my XP CD to work with anymore, does anyone have any other idea's? Don't ask me why Windows sees HDC1 as Drive D: I have no idea. I installed Win98 to drive D, and according to CFDisk HDA2, and HDC1 are the only windows bootable drives, and HDA1 is the only linux bootable drive(which sounds right to me, as Drive D: is HDC1 meaning secondary master Windows does some STRANGE stuff sometimes, and is rther unpredictable with things like that.)
I hae to agree with nukems assement of neil's proposal, nothing illegal about it, beause if you have already bought a copy of xp a whole 400 overpriced dollars, and the cd gets wrecked you still own the license, the SOURCE of the contents is irrelevant as long as you have the license. I am also going to take David's suggestion and post a copy of LILO.CONF up here. Now if I can just figure out how to attach a file. Well I can't figure it out so all I can do is open it from notepad and paste it but it looks TERRIBLE. Hope you can read between the lines so to speak.

Ok I guess it looks better once posted eh? LOL
The original lilo.conf file was generated but I modified it.
