Smeezekitty in reality, I wished that apple would fade away in the darkness long ago. The iphone really was the only thing to save them from oblivion, and there new crusade to make everyone pay them for there ill conceived version of history as being the founder of online video and audio, for which they certainly are not, then I will continue to despise them more then MS. Honestly there business practices and commercials make me feel ill every time I see them. They seam to subscribe to the misinformation model of things.

I suspect as more and more people venture away from giving them money for there sub-par products, they will go on the rampage of trying to sue everyone for patent infringement and try and stay afloat. This sounds very similar to another company that did this, then went the way of the dinosaur, just for some reason I cannot remember there name.

I disagree. If Apple die, Microsoft has less competition, and their products become more shit. Without virus-free good-looking OSX over the way, Average Joe would be far more easily convinced computers are always vulnerable to viruses and it's not MS's fault, and also more easily convinced there is no choice other than a PC carrying ("running" is the wrong word!) Windows.

And many GNU/Linux distributions are striving to compete with (and surpass) Windows on technical aspects. A worse Windows would mean a worse Ubuntu, a worse Fedora, a worse Mandriva, and so on.

Adobe’s Flash products are 100% proprietary.
While Apple software is 100% FLOSS, and you even have the freedom to choose what software you want installed. It's not like Apple would ever ever think about restricting what software you can have installed ... that would be whack man. Not only that, but you can install the Mac OS on any platform you want, such a thing is legal and encouraged.

I also don't like Apple, but they are pretty much the only ones that can currently provide µSoft some competition.

At least Mac OS X is Unix-based!

OSX may use BSD code, but in terms of goals and philosophies it's hard to be more different than UNIX.
