Status of openmailbox

I see from some older posts that at least some folks around here are using openmailbox (OMB) and so may be able to shed some light on its status.

I was very happy with OMB until this year when suddenly I could not longer connect with the XMPP service and discovered that it was also impossible to connect with the forum. A colleague who wanted to set up an account could not do so either.

I have tried contacting OMB at least three times with no reply and am currently looking seriously at Tutanota and ProtonMail. Before I switch, does anyone have any information about what is going on with OMB? Is it on the ropes, about to go down or whatever? I have supported it financially, but when responses are not forthcoming, it begins to look like time to jump ship.

i have had an openmailbox account for a few years now; i have the feeling that the owner wants to stay true to free as in both beer and software, but also offers paid services (and asks for donations).
once or twice a year i had difficulties connecting to the server, but i never could ascertain whether it's somehow my fault or whether the server is overloaded. probably the latter, because it always fixed itself after a short while.
all in all, i'm very happy with it and it is becoming a more important mail account now i am ending my last gmail account.

i can't connect to the forums either, but twitter has some current tweets, so not dead.
i guess s/he just needs to concentrate on providing the technical service.
