I don't know if we have any active Russian members but as in my previous thread concerning London, I wish to offer my condolences and prayers to the Russian people (and any Russian LQ members,) as well.

The death toll from the explosion in a metro carriage on Monday in the Russian city of St. Petersburg has reached 14 people, 49 others are still in hospital, according to Russia's Public Health Minister.
Three days of mourning have been declared in the city. World leaders voiced their solidarity with Russia and offered condolences to the victims' families. However, some Western mainstream media seem to be more interested in trying to take advantage of the attack for political motives.

Condolences over the St. Petersburg blast from other world leaders poured in on Monday. But as well as pledges of unreserved support, there was also much speculation in the mainstream media. As RT's Polly Boiko reports.

Eiffel Tower to dim its lights for St. Petersburg attack victims after public outcry
Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo has announced in a Twitter post that the Eiffel Tower will turn off its lights to pay tribute to the victims of the St. Petersburg Metro terrorist attack, apparently after she faced massive public pressure on social networks.
“Tonight, at midnight, Paris will dim the lights of the Eiffel Tower in tribute to the victims of the attack in Saint Petersburg,” Hidalgo tweeted on Tuesday.
