I get a grin thinking about some gang banger or religious radical stealing my .50 caliber Hawkins black powder rifle
and then trying to figure out how to load it and then shoot it. Let alone try and do any mass damage with it.
Man, Cmon. Be a grownup. Everyone knows since a baby. Negative actions are countered by good actions.
If I fly over to Wisconsin. Start sucker punching folks on the sidewalk because I do like hosers.
Then I am the bad man.
Location, location, location. Ones man bad man is anothers persons good man. But if you are in the line of negative actions.
Then you get to decide what is bad or good. KISS.
Screw what others think. Because when it is personal injury involving you.
SCREW WHAT OTHERS THINK.

That is why I do not like living in the cold north. Too many dark thoughts seem to crop up in the winter there.
I am a happy camper in the heat.

Every now and then the producers of "All in the Family" would give Archie Bunker something smart to say ----
Gloria: "It's a known fact Daddy that 35 percent of all murders are committed with guns and that's just too horrible to consider"
Archie: "Would it make you feel any better, Little Girl, if they was thrown out of windows?"
There's plenty of craziness on both sides of the argument about gun ownership but ultimately it's the owners and not the guns we need be worried about and environment plays a huge role. In an Urban environment there are only very specialized uses for guns... perhaps we might agree that Brinks truck drivers are one example of legitimate use.
In a rural setting, guns are tools and often very useful ones. I have lived where wild animals can indeed be a serious threat and others more suitably classed as varmints or pests need to be controlled and guns are one effective way of doing so. Also, it has been my experience that children brought up around guns are far more respectful and responsible than even urban adults who never got serious training especially on a routine basis. I never feared my neighbors' kids but I did fear office workers who traveled to Colorado for hunting season with firearms and a case of fire-water.
I doubt anyone would argue for the right to possess a fusion nuclear device, even unarmed because there is just no conceivable reason for an individual to own one and 'what if something goes wrong...an accident, or in case of dementia"....whatever any value is far outweighed by risk. I think similarly the risk of problems with assault weaponry far outweighs any conceivable value so they deserve extreme scrutiny if not outright banning for personal property. It is a complex issue but I don't see why logical argument can't prevail excepting the complete lack of understanding of environments other than the one "you" live in seems to halt meaningful discussion. I don't imagine a solution anytime soon as long as such close-minded polarization exists.
Grinning in the morning. Going to be in the upper 70's after I post.
Then I will be jumping on my slightly refurbished Giant Innova bicycle and take it for a test ride to Dairy Queen later to get a large Ice Cream cone. To see what else needs dialing in later by me.
No guns needed for the trip. My area of the USA is pretty safe. Oil rig workers stick to them selves mostly. Same for the Hispanics.
You are going to give yourself a ulcer bro. Fuming and worrying needlessly.
Relax. Have some fun.
