running Linux inside windowXP using vmware
 

How can I install Linux (TLE5.5) inside window XP Pro, In the same partition. Can I use vmware in this case and How?

i never heard of tle, but i installed fedora 1 and mandrake 10 and booted into a lindows livecd with vmware and no probs. so yeah, you can. just dont expect it to work flawelessy though. for example, i didnt have internet. your results can vary.

Yes, i don't see why not.
Open VMWare, Ctrl+N (or click File, then New Virtual Machine...), follow the prompts choosing the options that fit your guest OS, give it a name and a location to save to, specify the size of the virtual disk to be provided to your guest OS, etc
then mount an iso to the vmware guest OS cdrom (or use a physical cdrom) and boot the vmware guest OS to it and perform the installation

i have successfully installed RH8, FC1, and FreeBSD4.3 in VMWare WorkStation 4.5 and VMWare ESX

when using VMWare WS in XP, you will be able to choose the specs you would like to allocate to your guest OS, vmware will create a .vmdk virtual disk for the guest OS to install to so any XP partition that has enough free space for you to allocate to your vmdk can be used

i would get an error that the vmware-tools did not install correctly for FC1 but i was still able to seamlessly navigate from guest to host OS (i did not install X on the others to even attempt)

do you get any errors when you 'startx' from cli ?

Its very easy, I've run Redhat, Suse, and Slackware even under vmware under windows (even run solaris). If the Linux distro isn't listed in vmware then choose other and advanced and just create a virtual IDE drive (thats how I did slack and solaris since they aren't supported by vmware).
I do however suggest running linux native and running XP under vmware. Linux handels memory so much better than windows since Windows always tries to keep some free ram it will constantly swap out the memory being used by vmware. Linux will let most of the physical ram fill up before swapping so the memory allocated to the virtual machine will stay in physical ram and it will run fast. XP under vmware under linux runs almost as fast as xp did native on my laptop, vmware really brings out the superiority in linux.
