Can we please get this thread back on track? Here are the facts:

RMS makes a throwaway comment about someone who might have used one of Jeffrey Epstein's youthful prostitutes (but it turns out that he didn't!) to the effect that, if he had, he probably wouldn't have realised that the girl was acting under constraint. That's a perfectly reasonable comment to make. Yet for this "crime", his reputation is trashed and he is hustled out of the Free Software Foundation. Given his career as a doughty champion of free software, the question is inevitably raised: "Why would the politically correct brigade pile into him when so many other people have been much more closely involved with this scandal?" It's not surprising that a lot of people see this as a conspiracy by certain commercial interests who probably don't care twopence about Epstein's child sex ring but who care a great deal about silencing RMS.

The whole thing has little if anything to do with Epstein. It has absolutely zero to do with the fact that Epstein happens to be Jewish. And it certainly doesn't justify nasty antisemitic rants like the above. This has always been a very civilised site and I would like it to remain so.
