RH 9.0 upgrade monitor probe failure
 

I recently installed RH 8.0 on my box and at first had difficulty setting it up to a 1280 x 1024 resolution on my ProView 986N monitor. But it finally works.
Now, when trying to upgrade to RH 9.0, i place the CD in, boot and then it goes into an endless loop probing for my monitor. I can never get it to escape out and have to reboot - so I cannot upgrade to 9.0.
RH support says to install in text mode and indicates I may not be able to use the GUI though. I don't want to go down this path. Any ideas?
