Review my personal site, please?
Hi all,
It's not done yet, but I've built myself a little website. At this point, the main thing I need is for people to visit it and just let me know if everything's working. I've tested it extensively, and I think it's good to go, but I want to make sure. If anything looks out of whack, please let me know, as well as what screen size you have, resolution, browser, and all the usual crap. http://www.ChrisBartlett.net Oh, and all comments & critiques are welcome! Heh! I like the DEC Alpha story ;) Real smooth...

On mozilla 1.7 @ 1600x1200 on a 20" viewable the google search bar is wider than the background I assume its supposed to fit on. Otherwise, the site is really interesting. Like the color scheme, although sometimes it can be hard to read.

Cool layout scheme but the only thing i dont like is the green and silver background.

Nice layout, but I agree with the previous poster, the text is difficult to read. That is very minor though, so I say job well done!

Ok, based on suggestions from communities all over the web, I've made some changes.
Several people didn't like the FF logo as it was (square with a white BG). I've now changed it so that it is integrated seamlessly into the gray BG. Better? Several people said that the Google search field was too large and overlapped to the right on certain resolutions. I resized it. Better now? Nearly everyone hated the old RED text because it was hazy and hard to read against the gradient BG. I changed all the text to white and increased line-height so it's a little less cramped. Better now? Still working on other things, but what's the verdict in the meantime? ChrisBartlett.net Thanks, everyone! This has been invaluable. Chris |
I think it looks really good. I love your pictures of the Notch too. I am originally from NH and was born in Lowell :). Good to see pictures of home. Site looks nice. Great job.

WorldBuilder,
Posting a link to your site in your profile and in your signature is OK. You can also post a link if you have a technical problem (PHP script doesn't work etc). We can't accept, however, member creating new threads about their homepages. The danger that we get a hundred such threads is too big. That's why they're not accepted. And that's why I'm closing this thread. If you want to discuss this policy, feel free to contact one of the moderators or the site admin. |
