Retrieving important file on Windows

Okay. So I need an important document that I had on my Windows machine. Two days ago, I accessed the PDF off the interent in Firefox. The PDF was displayed inside Adobe Acrobat 6.0. I then printed the PDF to my HP Injet. Now I need to find some way to regain access to the original file, which isn't available anymore (I tried google cache and archive.org).

Firefox's cache does not have any files that old listed. Does Adobe Acrobat have a cache somewhere? Could the file have been stored somewhere on my computer when I printed it? Is my search hopeless?

Thanks.

Have you tried "C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Recent Documents" ? Failing that, no idea if it's not listed in the Firefox cache I'm afraid, as I don't think Acrobat has it's own cache for handling documents. Could be wrong though.

Try....

Or try:

C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

If you have a scanner and Textbridge, you can scan the pdf you printed, paste/fix results into Openoffice, or star, or adobe's $$$ software, and save it as a PDF.
