Regression lines on graphs in in Open Office?

Morning!

Got a quick bit of homework from uni which requires me to generate a graph with a regression line on it in Excel, though i don't have excel.

I can't find anything in OO.o spreadsheet to draw a regression line on the graph. Any ideas?

Regression lines are nothing but straight line equations...

One way is to generate the values for the regression equation (which is a straight line as you should know) and then use the graph feature to draw a line graph based on the data.

This should be fairly simple? I'm afraid that it's difficult to explain, but it's rather easy to achieve.

Yeah, i know what you mean.

Lecturer hinted that in excel it's in a right-click menu, so i was hoping for this.

Cheers!

Use the formula feature (I'm sure you know the "=" thing). Generate the set of X values and then compute the Y values for each X and then plot the graph...

It depends on whether it's Y on X or X on Y. So you'll need two sets of values. One for the X on Y and the other for the Y on X.
