Using a laptop in a car can distract the driver. At night, if the passenger uses it, the light may affect the driver's peripheral vision. A pedestrian or cyclist could be hit because the driver wasn't paying attention. The driver may hit another car or a building. You shouldn't be talking or even have your cell phone on while driving or cycling. people do get killed because of this stupidity. States have laws against this type of idiocy. Cyclist need to watch the road, not use a phone. Have I known people who were killed because of this stupidity? Yes. |
Meh, evolution by natural selection is always a good thing ...

Seems like driving a car is comfortable while walking with laptop isn't. |
Well--- about differences between Lappies and Deskies, some lappies are very robust and reliable...
...Im Thinking about the IBM Thinkpads and the Lenovo's... some others are pure ant total <|24p... Think about the Asus F3Jr... this... thing , would brake one of the hinges on repeated use... ... yes... that's right, the quality/sizing of the plastic inferior box was not enough to withstand the repeated bending efforts introduced by the simple opening/closing of the screen lid... with the repetition this would initiate crack and finally break the support where the metallic hinge was fixed to... Happened once, i order it to be fixed while in the warranty time, then, it happened AGAIN, IN THE SAME PLACE, with the newly substituted component... NEVER BUY AN ASUS.... this is my advice... I have two HP Pavillion DV5 1170 and they have performed allright so far... Whats yr opinions on HP Pavillion Lappies reliability...?? BRGDS Alex |
Never had or used a Pavilion laptop. Desktop? yes.
The desktop is okay. HD craps out too fast. My laptop experience has been: Gateway (re-branded Toshiba) tablet- good to sorta very good. It does the job. Sony vaio pcg series. Overheats too much, bad design. Old Compaq laptop. Sorta very good. Limited memory and cpu but workable. Laptop performance comes down to what you can do with it. Slax and NetBSD worked best with the vaio |
